Polycarbonate scrap
Polycarbonate scrap is basically polycarbonate (PC) in scrap form. It is a waste product but still very much suitable for polycarbonate recycling. Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic polymer wherein the monomers are linked by a carbonate bond. Polycarbonate is a strong, hard and clear transparent material that, in contrast to most other plastic materials, can handle high temperatures. It is easy to use and is therefore widely used for a large area of applications. Polycarbonate is used for example in CD’s and DVD’s, as well as goggles, helmets, helmet visors, police shields, multiple cell phones, water bottles and even food packaging are often made of polycarbonate.
Polycarbonate scrap can arise in many different shapes and sizes. Different colours can be applicable. The shape, size and colour mainly depends on what the polycarbonate scrap originated from. This means from which original product and original production the polycarbonate scrap arose.
For example, polycarbonate sheet scrap arises from the production of polycarbonate sheets. Polycarbonate CD's and DVD's arise from the production of CD's and DVD's or from end-of-life polycarbonate CD's and DVD's which have been recovered from household waste or company waste.
PC water bottle scrap arises from either polycarbonate water bottles production or from used water bottles which have been collected as polycarbonate scrap after several times of use. The polycarbonate scrap arising from these water bottles can be recycled by our company into a high quality polycarbonate regrind or a high quality polycarbonate compound.
This way, valuable polycarbonate raw material is extracted from the polycarbonate scrap by means of polycarbonate recycling.
We at PolycarbonateRecycling.com, are actively looking for polycarbonate scrap materials in all types, forms and colours.
